I landed in FAIRBANKS JANUARY 8,1985.
The ad I responded to promised HIGH PAY and NEW ADVENTURES. After all, the
thought of having PENGUINS. {YUP!!! PENGUINS !!! running around the neighborhood would be fun >>> and I'm still waiting} !!!
AND WHAT AN ADVENTURE IT'S BEEN !!!
It was -72 DEGREES BELOW ZERO!!! and it stayed like that for about 2 weeks. !!! The ICE FOG was so thick you couldn't see more than 2 ft in front of you!!! It was somewhat eerie but mysterious and romantic at the same time. {Kinda like those ESPIONAGE movies where the INTELLIGENCE AGENT falls in love with the wife of the guy he is spying on.}
I ended up passing on the HIGH PAY and enrolled in the local
BEAUTY COLLEGE , married a local boy and 2 children later
I'm still here looking for the
ELUSIVE FAIRBANKS PENGUIN>>>
